Live talks at your event will bring attention to undiscovered voices in your community, if you are a TEDx organizer. If you decide to include individual speakers, choose people who have been heard and seen by a lot of people, but have a fresh approach to their field, or a new perspective to share, which they can convey in a dynamic way. You will be responsible for creating a program that wows your guests and viewers, whether you are playing a program of TED Talks or combining live talks and video.

Managers at the school act as a bridge between various departments. They meet with the upper administration to make sure goals and concerns are passed along to staff. The campus manager is responsible for orientation and recruitment, as well as meetings and actions. Managers make sure staff follow procedures and protocols. They may also encourage safe practices by setting up staff safety training and safety inspections. Campus managers need to be aware of potential dangers and take appropriate steps to mitigate them. There areas with poor lighting, staff practices that leave the school open to negligent charges and policies regarding bringing weapons onto campus.

Managers usually supervise the staff. They can develop job descriptions and evaluate employees based on those requirements. Some campus managers need to coordinate volunteers and their responsibilities.

Clubs on your resume

If your club is not related to your major, you can still include it on your resume. It shows that you can do it in the workplace too, if you show that you can take on responsibility in many aspects of your college career. Greek life, professional societies, student government, sports, drama clubs, speech or debate clubs, and campus media are some of the common college clubs that can be listed on your resume.

You can get great references from on-campus activities. Did your faculty advisor see your leadership skills? Maybe your editor-in-chief would be willing to defend your writing skills.

Getting Your Grounds in Politicing

If you were elected student body president or the leader of a campus political chapter, you could pursue a career in politics. You will need to be skilled at networking and have a strong moral compass as a politician. If you want to become familiar with how elections work, learn what goes into a successful campaign, and discover what policies you're passionate about, working for a political campaign or political advocacy group that is aligned with your values is a great way to do that. Public service can be a great way to get into politics one day.
