Stationary High Pressure Steam Engineering Licenses

If you have a Stationary Engineer's license, you can get credit for your jurisdictional license if you have a stationary high-pressure steam plant that doesn't have a turbine generators. An upgrade in jurisdictional license will not upgrade National's license, for the license-holder must take the exam to upgrade National's license. A stationary high pressure steam engineer is intended for a supervisor role in the steam plant.

The supervisor has overall responsibility for the entire steam plant. The entry level into Stationary High-Pressure Steam Engineering licensure for candidates from an accredited learning program is one of the purposes of 3rd Class Engineer's License. The entry level into the Stationary High-Pressure Steam Engineering license program is one of the purposes of Fireman's License, as well as the transition from the LP Boiler Operator's license to a Stationary HP Steam Engineering licensure.

A Fireman's license is for a non-watch engineer and non-supervisory role in a high-pressure steam plant. A Fireman's License cannot hold a watch and when on watch must be supervised by a 3rd Class High-Pressure Steam Engineer license holder who does not have a probationary license. Chief Engineers or First Class Engineers can be Inspector Recognition Endorsements.

The High Pressure Boiler

A high pressure boiler is a shell and tube heat exchanger that uses boiled water to create steam or high pressure hot water. They use water filled tubes in a metal tank or enclosure to create power by converting water into steam and thermal energy. The steam and pressure of a high pressure boiler is produced by burning a fuel.

The heated gases are created by the burning fuel and are then moved by a pump. The Centrifugal pump increases the rate of evaporation to over 200 k of force per square centimeter. Natural circulation is much less powerful than that of the internet.
