Research Associates: Faculty Contributions
Senior research associates have a high degree of experience and training in research. They have made a lot of contributions to the discipline. Senior research associates may serve as principal investigator on a grant or contract if they are responsible for a member of the faculty.
They are responsible for designing and implementing research projects. Their specific duties may include, but are not limited to, planning, conducting, and reporting on original research; designing, constructing, or operating state-of-the-art research apparatus; and supervising the overall research operations of a laboratory or facility. Research associates help design and implement research projects or programs with a principal investigator faculty sponsor.
Research associates can only be principal investigators on grants on an exception basis. Their specific duties can include, but are not limited to, planning, conducting, and reporting original research; designing, constructing, or operating highly complex research apparatus; and supervising the research operations of a laboratory or facility. Research associates are not members of graduate committees, but they are informally involved in graduate research training.
Research associates are usually not responsible formal teaching but may participate in seminars or specialized portions of courses to an extent consistent with the funding of the position. Senior research associates and research associates are not members of the University Faculty. Unless given the right to vote by the particular faculty, senior research associates are not voting members of their college or school's faculty.

Medical expenses of Senior Research Associate
Form 3 and 4 should be submitted to the CSIR about 2 months before the completion of the year. There is a If the forms are not received by the due date, the incumbent ceases to be a Senior Research Associate.
