Software Quality Assurance Engineers

A software quality assurance engineer is someone who monitors the entire software development process to make sure that the software complies with the standards set by the development company. Software quality assurance engineers make sure that new products work before they are released to the public. The final product must meet company and governmental guidelines but also reach the consumer market at the time the company chooses.

The software quality assurance engineer must work closely with all departments to make sure the project is on time and on budget, because delays can be costly for the company. SQA Engineers plan test schedules and strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.

They can also participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems. Historical analyses of test results are conducted by the SQA Engineers on a weekly to monthly basis. They might review software documentation to make sure it is complete, accurate, and compliant.
