Gender and Culture: Interactive Digital Storytelling

Students will produce multimedia digital stories, an interactive map of Notre Dame campus bathroom facilities, and a range of written work that documents their intellectual development in the study of gender and culture during the two week term. They will travel to Chicago for a night at theatre, explore art museums, and conduct anthropology study of the Summer Scholars program. A mix of lectures, discussion, and creative activities will be included in class time.

When kids and teens go away for a week or entire summer, they are like crazy because of their respect, responsibility, and resilience. You have to interact with people you have never met. There has to be a way to get along with that annoying kid who is in your group or sharing your bunk, cubby, floor space, and the other 22 kids sharing your bathroom. Summer camp is a great place to learn to be tolerant and like people who are different from you.

The Summer internship Grant Program has made it possible for undergraduate students to work. In 2020, the number of students who received grants for summer experiences increased to over 400. Students will receive a grant for living and travel expenses accrued during the summer of an internship, as well as participate in career development activities that include: professional networking, informational interviews, and donor appreciation.
